Perrin Ventoux 2013

Other Red from France - Rhone
Review Date : 12-May-2014
Dark, deep, black-hued purple-red colour, lighter on rim. This has an elegantly presented, softly restrained nose with lifted floral and violet aromas intermingling with dark red and black fruits, along with herbal and red fruit jam elements. Medium-bodied, smooth and aromatically lifted dark red berry fruits with florals and confectionary-like whole berry fermentation flavours are the feature on palate. The mouthfeel is moderately sweet and juicy, with soft textures and low acidity providing a mellowness. The fruit is up-front and primary, without complication, and carries to a soft, aromatic finish. This is a soft and smooth, aromatic and juicy Cotes du Ventoux red. Serve with antipasto, tapas and Mediterranean fare over the next 2-3 years. Carignan, Cinsault, Grenache and Syrah, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 10 months in vat and large oak barrels. 16.5+/20 May 2014 RRP $19.99
