Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Central Otago & Waitaki
Review Date : 27-Sep-2022
Bright, even, pale straw yellow. The nose is richly soft, with white floral overlay apple, pear and dusty spice aromas. Medium-light bodied, fresh aromas of apple and pear enriched by bee pollen, magnolia and spice. The fruit is clean and pure with balanced ripeness, supported by crisp acidity, and flows with good energy to a spicy finish. Delicate phenolics provide a lightly textural, dusty mouthfeel. This refreshing Pinot Gris possesses the purity of apple and pear with crispy acidity on a refined mouthfeel. Match with spiced duck breast and pan-fried John Dory over the next 3-5 years. Fruit from Pisa, whole bunch pressed, fermented cool to 13.4% alc, 8.1g/l RS. 18.5+/20 pts (94 pts) Sep 2022 RRP $28
