Penkridge Farm Pinot Gris 2020, Central Otago

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Central Otago & Waitaki
Review Date : 27-Sep-2022
Bright, even, pale straw yellow with a light green sheen. The nose is full and richly perfumed, with aromas of white floral melded with pear, quince, white spice and a suggestion of lanolin. Medium-bodied, aromas of pear and quince are concentrated, entwined with beeswax, cardamom and lily. The mouthfeel is unctuous, reflecting beeswax and lanolin; lively acidity supports a vibrant flow and carries spice to a refreshing finish. This Pinot Gris shows slight development, with a pear and quice core, enriched by spice and beeswax on an unctuous palate. Match with pulled pork shoulder and fish curry over the next 3+ years. Fruit from Pisa, whole bunch pressed, fermented cool to 13.5% alc, 7.1g/l RS. 18.5+/20 pts (94 pts) Sep 2022 RRP $28
