Penkridge Farm Pinot Gris 2018, Central Otago

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Central Otago & Waitaki
Review Date : 23-Apr-2021
Bright, even pale gold-straw with some depth. The nose full, rich nuances of deep floral intermix pear and quince, spices and earth. Medium-full bodied, dry-ish to taste, aromas of quince, ripe pineapple enriched by ginger and white spices, linger with deep floral fragrance. The palate is lush with ripe fruit weight and an oily texture, underlying alcohol power and an amalgam of spices lifting at the finish. This is a generous and lush Pinot Gris with ripe fruit weight, spices and an oily mouthfeel. Match with spicy Thai beef salad and firecracker chicken over the next 3 years. Fruit from Mount Pisa, whole bunch pressed, fermented to 14.5% alc, 5.2 g/l RS, aged on the lees for 3 months. 18-/20 pts (89 pts) Apr 2021 RRP $28
