Penfolds ‘Koonunga Hill’ ‘Autumn’ Riesling 2011

Riesling from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 13-May-2013
Bright straw-yellow colour with golden hues, this is quite elegant and light, rather smaller-scale on nose, with lime citrus fruit showing some toasty development and a touch of sulphide rubber in the background. Dry to taste, this is an elegantly sized wine, with restrained lime and toast flavours. The acidity is a feature providing liveliness, but astringency shortens the finish a little. This is classically flavoured, pleasant Barossa Riesling for the shorter term, say 3-4 years. Barossa Valley fruit fermented to approx. 12.0% alc. 16.5/20 May 2013 RRP On-premise only
