Penfolds ‘Bin 08A’ Adelaide Hills Chardonnay 2008

Chardonnay from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 04-Aug-2012
Adelaide Hills fruit fully barrel-fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 9 months in 65% new French oak. Bright, pale straw-yellow, slight green tints. The bouquet is powerfully concentrated with punchy aromas that unfold stonefruit and nutty notes supporting the bold flinty lees and reductive elements. Full-bodied and robustly presented, this is mouthfilling and fulsome with masses of rich stonefruit and citrus fruits, flint and nutty flavours. This still has excellent acidity and energy. This is a bold and rugged, modern Australian style, which will keep 5-7 years easily. 18.0/20 Jul 2012
