Pencarrow Pinot Noir 2021, Martinborough

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 17-Jan-2024
Moderately deep ruby-red with a black hue, even colour throughout. The nose is gentle and elegant, with aromas of cherry, blackberry, herbs and delicate spice. Medium-full bodied, aromas of black cherry, blackberry and thyme entwined with black pepper, nutmeg and savoury, earthy elements. Smooth, silky tannins and enlivening acidity frame the dark fruit and herb with poise, lending a long, elegant finish. This approachable Pinot Noir is well-structured with a dark fruit core and herb on a smooth palate. Match with lamb koftas and roasted pork over the next 3+ years. Fermented to 14% alc. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) Jan 2024 RRP $35
