Bright, pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on the rim. This has an elegantly concentrated nose with intensity at the core showing pungent passionfruit aromas along with fresh herbs, subtle tropical fruit notes and chalky mineral elements. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate has up-front, penetrating and concentrated luscious flavours of passionfruit with notes of tropical fruits, herbs and minerals. The flavours form a well-packed core and the wine flows along a soft-textured phenolic line with balancing lacy acidity and energy. The wine carries to a sustained finish with light, dry textures and flavours of passionfruit. This is an up-front, intensely concentrated Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit, herb and mineral flavours and a soft-textured, linear palate. Serve with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Palliser/Clouston’, ‘East Base’ and ‘Collins’ vineyards fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 3.8 g/L RS, the wine aged 6 months on lees. 17.5/20 Mar 2017 RRP $21.90
