Bright, light straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, a little paler on edge. This has a full and voluminous nose with deeply packed aromas showing an array of green stonefruits including greengages and nectarines, along with gooseberry, herb and grassy nuances, and soft nutty oak elements. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate possesses bold, intense and up-front flavours of greengages, nectarines, green stonefruits and a subtle layer of nutty oak. The palate is mouthfilling and flavoursome, with a deep core, and the wine flows along a fine-textured line of fruit extract. The mouthfeel is fresh with lacy acidity providing tension, enhancing the linearity. The wine carries to a long and sustained, vibrant finish of green stonefruits. This is a rich, vibrant and bold, mouthfilling Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon blend with an array of green stonefruit flavours with plenty of mouthfeel and textural presence. Match with herb-marinated poultry and pork dishes over the next 3-4+ years. A blend of 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Semillon, from 30 y.o. vines, indigenous yeast fermented with 15% of the Sauvignon in new French oak barriques and the Semillon in seasoned puncheons to 13.9% alc., the wine aged 8 months on lees. 19.0/20 Mar 2017 RRP $31.00
