A blend of 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Semillon from vines almost 30 y.o., fermented separately, the Semillon in seasoned French oak to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 8 months on lees, the Semillon in barrel. Bright, full, yellow colour with golden hues, and some depth. This has a rich and concentrated, seep and rounded bouquet with seamlessly interwoven aromas of ripe gooseberries, lantana and grass, along with greengage and herbal detail, and suggestions of secondary bean-like development complexities. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate features a soft and deep core with smooth, integrated flavours of ripe gooseberries, green stonefruit and tropical fruits, with grassy and bean-like elements. This has a fine-texture mouthfeel with fresh, underlying acidity lending a positive core and line with good drive. The wine carries effortlessly to a sweet-fruited, weighty and sustained finish of sweet tropical fruits and savoury grassy elements. This is a soft, concentrated Sauvignon and Semillon blend with smooth textures and flow, good integration and the beginnings of complexing bean-like development.
