Made from Mendoza clone, wild yeast barrel-fermented to 13.5% alc., aged 12 months in 500L puncheons for 12 months, then given a further 6 months on fine lees, has a light golden colour and a full, rather shy and retiring bouquet. Within, there are aromas of nectarines and citrus fruit with mealy, nutty, minerally elements. A well-constructed wine, this shows a little heat, the fruit flavours a little restrained at present. Stonefruits, nuts, minerals, and smoke. Intriguing nuances of complexing sulphides and oxidative characters make this a white burgundy impersonator to drink over the next 4+ years.  Mar 2011
