Deep, medium ruby-black with a very slight tinge of tawny on the rim. The nose is elegantly soft with good tension, aromas of black fruit, dried herbs with delicate spices entwined with subtle developed nuances of game and black truffle. Full-bodied, there's a concentrated core of sundried black plums and cherries, integrated with dried herbs, game, liquorice roots and spices, lingers to a long sustained finish. The palate is soft, with grace and power. Ripened and dried plums and cherries have concentration contributed to weight and broaden the palate, the noticeable spices add to the dimension. Gently extracted fine-grained tannin is soft and silky with an exquisite texture and grip at ten years of age, entwined with the acidity, emphasised the spices and liquorice on the back palate, a very pleasing finish. A well-integrated Pinot Noir, flavour enhanced by age and developed complexing savoury details on a silky palate. Match with venison and lamb over the next 4-6 years. From one of the warmest vintage on record. Fermented to 13.5% alc. Aged in French oak barriques for 18 months, 30% new. 18.5+/20 pts July 2020 RRP $65
