Deep, ruby-red with a dark core, moderately full, lighter on edge. The nose is full and youthful; red berries, plum aromas interweave new leather, cedar, violet and spice. Medium-full bodied, elegantly presented, red plum, berries enriched by leather, cedar; violet and spice unfold, linger with black liquorice and blackcurrant leaf to a long, sustained dry finish. The wine has a posied structure supported by finely weaved silky tannin, expended with oak spice and an integrated acid line. The wine possesses power and good energy generated by richness and concentration. This is readily delicious, with elegant and poise on a well-structured palate. Match with beef wellington and mushroom stew over the next 8-10 years. Fermented in stainless steel to 13.5%, regular pumped over, then pressed off, aged in French oak barriques for 18 months, 25% new oak. Predominantly Merlot, with Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and a small amount of Cabernet Franc. 18.5+/20 pts (94 pts) Nov 2021 RRP $34
