Pegasus Bay ‘Aria’ Waipara Late-Picked Riesling 2008

Riesling from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 11-Mar-2011
Made from fruit 40% affected by botrytis, fermented to 11.0% alc and 80 g/L rs. Light straw-yellow with golden hues to the colour, this has fully-ripened fruit showing lime marmalade and wild honey aromas. The palate is medium-sweet and combines marmalade, lime fruit and honey with a steely, mineral edge. Not overly luscious, the richness seems restrained, this allowing the weight and unctuous texture feature. Good underlying acidity, but soft in presentation, and beautiful honey-toast nuances on the finish. This will keep 6-8 years.  Mar 2011
