Pedro Pasion Navarra Tempranillo/Merlot 2014

Tempranillo from Spain
Review Date : 22-Nov-2015
Dark, deep, purple-hued ruby-red colour, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is elegant and restrained in expression with subtly sweet and ripe aromas of black and red berry fruits entwined with earth and black minerals, and a floral lift. Medium-full bodied, plush and juicy flavours of dark red berry fruits unfold earth, spice and cedar detail, along with black pepper and mineral elements. The fruit is enlivened by clear, crisp acidity and underlined by fine, light tannin extraction. The wine flows with freshness, sweetness, balance and elegance, and carries to a long, softly concentrated dry finish with fruit nuances. This is a well-balanced, elegant and fruity Navarra with a fresh mouthfeel and linear flow. Match with tapas, antipasto and pasta over the next 3 years. A blend of 80% Tempranillo and 20% Merlot from Navarra, fermented to 13.5% alc. 17.0-/20 Nov 2015 RRP $17.99
