Pedro Pasion Navarra Tempranillo/Merlot 2013

Blended Red from Spain
Review Date : 10-Jul-2015
Dark, black-hued ruby-red colour with a deep heart and lighter garnet on the rim. The nose is full with solidly presented aromas of ripe black berried fruits interwoven with earthy and spicy notes. This is up-front, but has depth and density. Medium-full bodied, the palate is fulsome in flavour, with a concentrated core of ripe black fruits melded with earth and spicy elements. The fruit has good weight and presence, and is encased by grainy tannin extraction, lending a dry and rustic mouthfeel. Some alcoholic power emerges to drive the wine to a dry, robust, earthy and flavoursome finish. This is a fulsome, rustic, friendly country-styled Navarra red to match with barbecued, grilled and roasted red meats over the next 3+ years. A blend of 80% Tempranillo and 20% Merlot from Navarra, fermented to 13.5% alc. 16.0+/20 Jul 2015 RRP $17.99
