Deep, inky purple, lighter on edge. The bouquet is upfront and youthful with an amalgam of berry fruit, violet, peppery spicy notes. Full-bodied, aromas of strawberries, raspberries, red plums, lingers with toasted almonds and black pepper. The fruit is youthful and bright, juicy with lively acid balance, very vibrant on the palate. Smooth tannin extraction is ripe and velvety, provides structure and a good grip. Varietal character of black pepper lingers on the finish with a nutty element. Match with roasted lamb over the next 2-3 years. Fermented in open-top fermentors to 14% alc. Low sulphur, <5 ppm.
