Chardonnay from France - Other
Review Date : 24-Sep-2016
Bright, light golden-yellow colour with some straw hues on the rim. The nose is softly full with gently aromatic, ripe aroma of yellow stonefruits and citrus fruits along with lifted tropical fruit elements. With aeration, white florals, nutty oak and flinty detail emerges to add interest. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate has light and slender flavours of citrus and yellow stonefruits, along with sweet tropical fruit notes and nutty oak. The mouthfeel is smooth in flow, following a fine textural thread with balanced, refreshing acidity providing tension and energy. The wine carries to an elegant, lightly nuanced finish of sweet fruit and toasty oak. Soft and full on the nose, this Chardonnay has light and slender flavours of citrus and stonefruits along with subtle toasty oak notes. Match with seafood and poultry over the next 2+ years. Languedoc fruit barrel-fermented to 13.5% alc. 16.5/20 Sep 2016 RRP $17.99
