Very dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour with some garnet on the edge. The nose is very tight and fine in concentration with intense aromas of blackcurrants and cassis along with subtle notes of leaf and stalk detail. This has purity and clarity of varietal expression. Medium-full bodied, the palate possesses a tightly concentrated, elegantly presented core of clear blackcurrant fruit with cassis liqueur and nuances of leaf and fresh herbs. The fruit is underlined by fine-grained tannin extraction and structure, providing a firm and positive line enlivened by bright, lacy acidity. The fruit shows richness and focus, and leads to a long, lingering finish of blackcurrants and herbs. This is an elegant and focussed, fine-grained Cabernet Sauvignon with blackcurrant, cassis and herb notes. Serve with herb-marinated lamb and beef dishes over the next 5+ years.
