Paua Bay ‘On Yer Bike’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 21-Jan-2013
Bright, very pale straw colour, near colourless on rim. The nose is softly fresh and elegantly full with gentle passionfruit, tropical fruit and gooseberry aromas showing good depth. Dry to taste, a lively mix of gooseberry and passionfruit flavours form a core with depth and some weight. The mouthfeel is racy and slippery with plenty of acidity in support. A little phenolic texture emerges and carries through to a long, dry finish featuring gooseberries and limes enlivened by lacy acidity. This is a bright, lively and racy Sauvignon Blanc that is properly dry. Match with shellfish and poultry over the next 2 years. Sauvignon Blanc with a little Chardonnay in the blend, approx. 60% of the fruit from the Wairau Valley, 40% from the Awatere, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.8% alc. and 3.5 g/L rs, the wine given time on lees. 17.0/20 Jan 2013 RRP AUS$15.00
