Paua Bay ‘Gravitas’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 21-Jan-2013
100% Sauvignon Blanc, predominantly from the Wairau Valley with a small portion of Awatere fruit, stainless-steel fermented to 12.7% alc. and 2.5 g/L rs., the wine aged on lees. Brilliant pale straw-yellow colour, lighter on rim. This has a soft, full bouquet of lively passionfruit aromas with harmoniously entwined mineral and fresh herb elements. Dry to taste, softly full, rich and up-front passionfruit flavours fill the palate. The mouthfeel is fresh and bright, underlined by crisp acidity that contributes to the linearity and smooth flow. The acidity becomes more prominent on mid-palate adding to the juiciness and lusciousness, and leads to a long and sustained slippery finish lifted with flavours of esters, nettles and tropical fruits. This is a rich and racy Sauvignon Blanc with up-front passionfruit flavours. Match with Asian and Mediterranean fare over the next 2+ years. 17.5/20 Jan 2013 RRP AUS$19.00
