Parnasse Syrah Pays d’Oc 2011

Syrah from France - Other
Review Date : 20-Aug-2013
Very full, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour. Light and tight, fresh, primary dark red berry aromas are lifted by red and violet perfumes and a little pepper. Medium-bodied, this is tightly bound and elegant with attractively fruited dark red berry notes along with violets, spices and pepper. The flavours are uncomplicated, with moderate concentration, following a fine, dry, tannin line. The acidity is modest, and provides a soft textured mouthfeel, and the flavours flow effortlessly to a lifted, whole berry-jammy finish with sweet floral nuances. This is an elegant and fine-textured, up-front, fruity and youthful country Syrah wine. Serve with charcuterie, or match with pork and lamb over the next 4 years. 100% Syrah from Nimes, Beziers and the Aude Valley fermented to 13.5% alc., a portion of the wine aged in seasoned oak barrels. 17.0+/20 Aug 2013 RRP $19.99
