Parnasse Pays d’Oc Syrah 2013

Syrah from France - Other
Review Date : 25-Sep-2014
Full, deep, purple-hued ruby colour, youthful in appearance. The nose is fresh and elegant in expression with lifted florals and perfumed, primary raspberry and peppery fruit aromas. This is fruit-focussed and uncomplicated in it purity, and has good intensity. Medium-full bodied, up-front sweet and juicy fruit flavours of dark raspberries, pepper spices and hints of jam are the feature on palate. The tannins are supple and the mouthfeel plush and easy. As the wine flows, the extraction becomes more prevalent and carry the wine to a dry, fine-grained textured finish. This is an up-front primary fruited Syrah with raspberry, floral and jammy notes and a dry finish. Serve with antipasto, risotto, pasta and poultry dishes over the next 3 years. 100% Syrah from Nimes, Beziers and the Aude Valley from vines 20 y.o., fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged partially in 1 and 2 y.o. oak. 16.5+/20 Sep 2014 RRP $19.99
