Paritua Stone Paddock Scarlet 2019, Hawke’s Bay

Blended Red from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 16-Jun-2022
Deep, full, ruby-black, lighter on edge. The bouquet is free, gently filled the glass with blackberries, cassis and plums melded with cedar, spice and smoky earth hint. Full-bodied, bright on the palate, blackberries, cassis and plums aromas interweave smoke, cedar, spice and savoury elements. Fine-grained, smooth tannin structured and reflects smoke, lingers to a long, dry finish; the succulent fruit has a savoury quality supported by lively acidity. This approachable red blend possesses ripe fruit enriched by cedar and smoky barrel details. Match with beef steak and smoked brisket over the next 3-5 years. A blend of Cabernet Franc 48%, Cabernet Sauvignon 33% and Merlot 19%, destemmed, cold-soaked before fermenting, fermented over 10 days to 13% alc, aged in barrels for up to 12 months. 18+/20 pts (91 pts) June 2022 RRP $24.95
