Paritua Stone Paddock Cabernet Sauvignon 2018, Hawke’s Bay

Cabernet Sauvignon from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 19-Jan-2021
Deep, ruby-red with depth, lighter on the rim. The nose is gently full and elegantly presented, nuances of blackberries, cassis melded with cigar and barrel spices. Full-bodied, concentrated palate possesses nuances of blackberries, cassis, mint; unfolding cigar, nutmeg and cloves, linger to a structured, dry closing. The fruit has ripeness balance, and concentration contributed to the weight; adorn by oak elements, fine-grained tannin grip, unfolding a hint of mocha richness. This is a generous Cabernet Sauvignon with varietal characters and flavour ripeness on a structured velvety tannin palate. Match with ribeye steak and ox-tongue over next 5 years. Destemmed, fermented in closed fermenters to 13.5% alc, aged in barrels for at least 12 months. 18+/20 pts (91 pts) Jan 2021 RRP $25
