Paritua ‘Red’ Hawke’s Bay 2015

Blended Red from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 05-Sep-2018
Full, deep, near impenetrable black-hued ruby-red colour, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is firmly concentrated with deep and powerful aromas of ripe black plums along with blackberries and soft notes of blackcurrants and cassis. Suggestions of dark herbs, black minerals and earthy elements, along with fresh herbs and currants add to the complexity. Full-bodied, the palate has rich and succulently sweet flavours of ripe plums with lovely poised notes of blackberries and blackcurrants with cassis lift. The fruit has vitality and is enlivened by fine acidity, The fruit forms a fine-textured concentrated core with excellent linearity, and is supported by excellent tannin structure and liveliness that carries the wine to a long, bright, sweet finish. This is a beautifully sweet and rich, vibrant Merlot-blended wine with fine concentration and structure. Match with lamb, beef and venison over the next 8-10+ years. A blend of 74% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Cabernet Franc, fermented to 14.5% alc., the wine aged 24 months in 40% new French oak. 19.0/20 Sep 2018 RRP $49.00
