Palliser Estate Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 13-Apr-2017
Bright pale straw colour with slight green hues, lighter on the rim. The nose is very elegant and fine in concentration, the aromas gently unfolding to show rich, pungent passionfruit intermixed with tropical fruit, herbs, green stonefruits and mouthwatering minerals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate possesses elegantly packed, lusciously thirst-quenching and lively flavours of passionfruit, tropical fruits, herbs and green stonefruits. The wine flows a very fine-textured, smooth line unfolding mouthwatering mineral notes, along with fresh lacy acidity lending energy and tension. The flavours carry to a long, lingering finish of passionfruit and minerals. This is an elegantly concentrated, lively and succulent Sauvignon Blanc with flavours of passionfruit, herbs and green stonefruits, along with mouthwatering mineral notes. Match with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2+ years. Fruit from the ‘Palliser/Clouston’ and ‘East Base’ vineyards, fermented in stainless-steel to 13.7% alc. and 3.9 g/L RS, the wine aged 6 months on lees. 18.5/20 Apr 2017 RRP $27.90
