Palliser Estate Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 31-Oct-2011
Brilliant straw-yellow colour with green hues and a pale rim. The bouquet is full, open and voluminous with fresh and powerful passionfruit aromas along with gooseberries, lime fruit and flinty minerals that blossom. Dry to taste, the palate has layers of rich, pungent passionfruit and grapefruit flavours with ripe capsicums and fresh herbs that fill the mouth. The acidity is restrained and a fine textural thread provides line and length, leading to a soft, richly nuanced finish. This is an openly accessible and flavoursome Sauvignon with drive and concentration to match salads, vegetables and rich poultry dishes over the next 2+ years. 100% Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc mostly from the company's estate vineyards, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.3% alc. and 5 g/L rs, on lees for 4 months. 18.5-/20 Nov 2011 RRP $21.00
