Bright, very pale pink colour with suggestions of purple, very light on the rim. The nose is very fresh and fragrant with aromas of strawberries and cream entwined with red florals and subtle notes of confectionary and fresh fermentation esters. Thus has an up-front presentation with good depth and presence. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is softly presented with a gentle rounded and accessible core of deliciously bright strawberries and cream flavours with red florals and strawberry fruit pastilles. The flavours are aromatic and rich with the fruit sweetness balanced by soft, light, mouthwatering phenolic textures. The acidity provides background tension and the wine carries smoothly to a fragrant, floral finish with a little confectionary. This is a gently rich, dryish rosé with soft strawberries and cream, floral and fruit pastille flavours on a mouthwatering, fragrant palate. Serve with antipasto and Asian cuisine over the next 2 years. 100% Pinot Noir, with clone 5 from the ‘Pinnacles’, 667 from ‘Collins’ and ‘Martins’ sites, plus Abel clone fruit from the ‘Winery’ vineyard, crushed to press with 3 hours skin contact and fermented to 12.4% alc. and 6 g/L RS, the wine spending 3 months on lees. 18.5-/20 Aug 2018 RRP $25.99
