Palliser Estate Martinborough Riesling 2018

Riesling from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 27-Jul-2018
Bright pale straw colour with slight green hues, lighter on the rim. The nose is softly concentrated with aromas of lime fruit harmoniously melded with white florals and soft musky botrytis notes, unfolding hints of piquant herbs and minerals. The aromatics build in depth with aeration. Medium-dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has an elegant heart with flavours of lime fruit entwined with white floral detail, hints of honeysuckle and musk, with suggestions of herbs and minerals. The mouthfeel is refreshing and lively, and the wine flows along a fine, phenolic-textured line with good energy to a dry, lingering finish. This is a soft and detailed off-dry Riesling with lime and floral fruit with honey and musk notes on a fine-textured, refreshing palate. Match with Asian fare over the next 4 years. Fruit with approx. 5% botrytis, from the ‘Om Santi’ and ‘Palliser’ vineyards, cool-fermented to 11.3% alc. and 6.6 g/L RS, TA 7.8 g/L and pH 3.01. 18.5/20 Jul 2018 RRP $25.00
