Palliser Estate Martinborough Riesling 2016

Riesling from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 29-Sep-2016
Full, even straw-yellow colour with light green-gold hues, pale on the rim. The nose is soft and full with gently concentrated aromas of lime and lemon fruit harmoniously entwined with exotic white and yellow florals, nuances of honeysuckle, unfolding mineral elements with aeration. Dryish to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate is subtly rich with mouthfilling flavours of lime fruit melded with exotic florals and honeysuckle, detailed by mineral suggestions. The mouthfeel of soft and dry with very fine textures from fruit extract, and the acidity is softly ripe and well balanced. The flavours of exotic florals and citrus fruit blossom, and carry to a long and sustained finish with an array of aromatics. This is a softly rich, aromatic, dry Riesling with exotic citrus, floral and honeysuckle flavours and fine textures, unfolding waves of fragrance. Serve as an aperitif or serve with Asian cuisine over the next 5+ years. Fruit from the ‘Om Santi’ and ‘Boulders’ vineyards, cool-fermented in tank to 12.2% alc. and 8 g/L RS, TA 7.1 g/L and pH 3.03. 18.5/20 Sep 2016 RRP $22.85
