Bright, light straw-yellow colour with pale green suggestions, lighter on the rim. The nose is softly full with fresh aromas of white and yellow stonefruits along with subtle notes of exotic florals, a little honeysuckle, some musk and lifted fermentation esters. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has gently rich and luscious flavours of white and yellow stonefruits entwined with exotic florals, musk and honied notes. The flavours form an up-front heart with good depth. The palate has a degree of unctuousness which is balanced by fine-grained phenolic textures with integrated acidity. The wine carries positively leading to a lingering finish with subtle flavours, but good presence. This is a gently rich and luscious off-dry Pinot Gris with stonefruit, floral, honied and musk notes on a palate with a good heart and presence. Match with Asian fare over the next 3+ years. Fruit from the ‘Om Santi’ and ‘East Base’ vineyards, fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. and 7 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees for 8 months. 18.5-/20 Mar 2018 RRP $31.00
