Palliser Estate Martinborough Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 08-Dec-2014
Pinot Gris fruit stainless-steel fermented with 9% in seasoned oak to 13.9% alc. and 6 g/L RS, the wine spending 9 months on lees. Bright, very pale straw colour with some green hues and a faint suggestion of blush. The nose is fine and delicate in expression with pure and ethereal aromas of white stonefruits lifted with notes of esters, honeysuckle and musk. Off-dry to dry in taste and medium-bodied, soft and rounded, restrained flavours of white and yellow stonefruits are enriched by hints of honeysuckle. Floral elements add to the interest. The flavours harmoniously presented, with purity and clarity and the mouthfeel is smooth and soft. The wine is elegant and flows gently to a soft-textured, dry finish with some length. This is a smooth, harmonious and elegant, off-dry Pinot Gris with pure stonefruit and floral flavours. Match with most white meat courses over the next 3-4 years. 17.5+/20 Sep 2014 RRP $28.50
