Palliser Estate Martinborough Pinot Gris 2012

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 20-Feb-2013
Pinot Gris fruit stainless-steel fermented to 12.4% alc. and 6.0 g/L rs, the wine kept on gross lees for 6 months in tank. Bright, very pale straw colour, very pale on edge. This has classical aromas of white and yellow stonefruits, honeysuckle, flinty minerals and herb, and show with good depth and concentration. Dryish to off-dry and medium-bodied, soft and light flavours of yellow stonefruits, pears and honeysuckle form a soft-textured core and provide good drive and presence. The acidity is restrained, but the mouthfeel is one of energy and liveliness. The flavours flow smoothly to a soft, bright, light and dry finish. This is an attractively soft-textured and bright, dryish Pinot Gris with classical stonefruit and pear flavours. Serve with antipasto and first courses over the next 3-4 years. 17.0+/20 Feb 2013 RRP $28.50
