Palliser Estate Martinborough Pinot Gris 2011

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 14-Mar-2012
Bright straw-yellow colour, pale on edge. The nose is tight and shows aromas of white stonefruits with pears, minerals and flinty lees and reductive elements. Dryish to taste, this is tightly bound with restrained flavours of white stonefruits and distinctive minerally notes. The medium-weighted palate is initially crisp, building to become smooth and rounded with subtle sweetness balancing the acidity. A dry, firm finish completes this flinty, lees-influence Pinot Grigio style wine. Match with antipasto and poultry over the next 2-3+ years. Cool-fermented to 12.5% alc. and 6.6 g/L rs, the wine had 7 months on lees. 16.5+/20 Mar 2012 RRP $28.50
