Palliser Estate Martinborough Pinot Gris 2010

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 05-May-2011
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with a hint of green, this has a soft, full nose with good volume of ripe yellow stonefruits and pears with some stonefruit kernel, spice and earth elements showing. Off dry and with good weight and presence on the palate, this has a bright and lively fruit expression, tingling with pears, stonefruits and honey, the acidity fresh and adding a luscious richness. Cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 6.6 g/L rs and given 7 months aging on lees. This is a fuller, user-friendly, versatile style that will suit matching with antipasto to mildly spicy Asian cuisine over the next 3-4+ years. 17.5/20 May 2011 RRP $24.00
