Paddy Borthwick Wairarapa Sauvignon Blanc 2018

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 02-Aug-2018
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on the rim. This has an elegantly proportioned nose with well-packed and densely concentrated aromas of pungent passionfruit along with tropical fruit and dark herb notes. The aromatics are deep and intense. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has tight and penetrating flavours of pungent passionfruit entwined with tropical fruits, fresh and dark herbs, und suggestions of mouthwatering minerals. The flavours form a firm core with plenty of linearity. This has very fine-textured phenolics and the wine carries to an elegant, dry finish. This is a tight and penetrating, aromatic Sauvignon Blanc with pungent passionfruit, tropical fruit and herb flavours on a fine-featured, linear palate. Match with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from the ‘Borthwick’ vineyard, fermented in stainless-steel to 12.8% alc. and 1.0 g/L RS, the wine aged on light lees. 18.5/20 Aug 2018 RRP $24.00
