Paddy Borthwick Wairarapa Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 16-Jun-2014
Bright, very pale straw colour with youthful green hues. The nose is very tightly concentrated with penetrating aromas of pungent passionfruit melded with minerals, the bouquet revealing fresh lifted esters and hints of tropical fruits. Dry to taste and very elegantly presented and slender in proportion, concentrated passionfruit flavours are entwined with exotic florals and chalky, minerally notes, and follow a very fine-grained, phenolic line, driven by softly ripe acidity. This has energy and linearity and the flavours are carried to a dry, refined, thirst-quenching, passionfruity finish. This is a tightly bound and concentrated, elegant Sauvignon Blanc with pungent fruit and minerally flavours. Serve with antipasto, seafood, poultry and goats cheese over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Borthwick’ vineyard cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.9% alc. and 2.3 g/L RS. 18.5-/20 Jun 2014 RRP $22.00
