Paddy Borthwick Wairarapa Riesling 2015

Riesling from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 23-Jun-2016
Bright, light golden-hued straw-yellow colour, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is rounded, but concentrated with aromas of lime fruit, yellow florals and nuances of savoury apples, unfolding nuances of minerals. This builds in aromatic depth with aeration. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features a tightly bound core of citrus fruits, yellow florals and apples, along with savoury mineral detail. The mouthfeel is fresh, crisp and lively, with racy acidity and the wine follows a light-textured, dry, phenolic line which carries the flavours to an elegant, lingering, dry and mouthwatering finish. This is a dryish Riesling with citrus and apple flavours, a bright and lively mouthfeel and a dry, textured line. Serve as an aperitif and with seafood over the next 4+ years. Cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.8% alc., and 6.6 g/L RS, TA 7.4 g/L and pH 3.14. 17.0+/20 Jun 2016 RRP $22.00
