Paddy Borthwick Wairarapa Riesling 2013

Riesling from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 16-Jun-2014
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, light on edge. This has a very soft and light nose with delicate aromas of white florals and lime fruit with savoury apple notes that unfold revealing good depth. Off-dry to taste, the palate features a tightly concentrated amalgam of limes, yellow florals and savoury red apple fruit. The mouthfeel shows good fruit extract and depth, and is crisp and racy, with brisk, mouthwatering acidity balancing the subtly luscious fruit flavours. A fine, drying phenolic line guides the wine to a long finish with refined textures and emerging sweetness. This is a crisp, appley, off-dry Riesling with crisp acidity and a fine, drying line. Serve as an aperitif or with Chinese cuisine over the next 4-5+ years. A single vineyard wine, the fruit cool-fermented to 11.4% alc. and 10 g/L RS. 17.5/20 Jun 2014 RRP $22.00
