Paddy Borthwick Wairarapa Pinot Gris 2015

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 23-Jun-2016
Bright straw-yellow colour with pale golden hues, a little lighter on the edge. This has a very tight, fresh and pristine nose of white and yellow stonefruits harmoniously entwined with white florals and delicate, nutty and mineral detail. The intensity grows in the glass. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, this has a tight core of fresh and lively white and yellow stonefruits entwined with lifted white florals and suggestions of nuts and minerals. The palate has some underlying alcoholic power and drive, and the wine flow along a very fine-textured line, with lacy acidity enlivening the mouthfeel. The wine carries to a fresh, taut, finely concentrated finish of stonefruits and florals. This is a fresh, bright and crisp, dry Pinot Gris with white stonefruit and floral flavour and a fine, textured line. Serve with seafood and antipasto over the next 3-4 years. Two-thirds fermented in tank and one-third in seasoned oak to 13.5% alc. and 3.0 g/L RS. 17.5-/20 Jun 2016 RRP $22.00
