Paddy Borthwick Riesling 2021, Wairarapa

Riesling from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 23-Nov-2021
Bright, pale straw-yellow, even colour throughout. The nose is coy on opening, softly filling the glass with stonefruit, lime, lime blossom, citrus zest and a hint of honey. Medium-light bodied, dry to taste, vibrant aromas of lime, grapefruit and its zest, melded with apricot, citrus blossom and a note of honey. The fruit has good weight and intensity. A citrusy acid line carries a light phenolic grip with tension, flow swiftly to a long, juicy finish. This is a vibrant citrusy Riesling with a refreshing and focused acid line. Match with seafood and deep-fried Mozzarella over the next 5 years. Fruit from Gladstone, inoculated, cool-fermented to 12.5% alc, 4.8 g/l RS. 18/20 pts (90 pts) Nov 2021 RRP $22
