Deep ruby-purple with good transparency, lighter edged. The nose is gently full, upfront aromas of cherries, blackberries entwined with an amalgam of spices, earth and a savoury edge. Medium-bodied, nuances of cherries and blackberries enriched by a hint of earth, orange pith and spices. The slender mouthfeel carries flavours with depth, along a smooth-textured palate supported by fine-grained tannin extraction. Lively acidity provides a vibrant drive, featuring the succulent fruit. This is a ready-to-drink Pinot Noir with the purity of fruit, a little spice seasoning and savoury earth element. Match with venison meatballs and dry-cured coppa over the next 3 years. Fermented to 13.5% alc, aged in French oak for 8 months, 15% new oak. 17/20 pts (85 pts) Feb 2021 RRP $25
