Bright, even, pale yellow with a slightly green hue. The nose is rich with power and spice, penetrating aromas of ripe quince, pear, five-spice, underlined citrus and floral elements. Medium-full bodied, ripe flavours of pear, quince and stonefruit, interweave citrus and grapefruit pith, white floral, ginger and an amalgam of spice. A hint of honey and bee pollen enriched the flavour spectrum, and spices linger to a salivating finish. Fine-textured phenolics echo citrus pith, contribute a layer of bitter-sweetness and a textural mouthfeel. This is a rich, flavoursome white blend of 50% Pinot Gris, 27% Riesling and 23% Chardonnay, features the ripe aromas of each variety and a lingering finish. Match with Asian fare and white meat over the next 4 years. Fruit from Gladstone, slight skin contact, inoculated in stainless steel tank, fermented to 13.8% alc, 2.8 g/l RS, left on lees for 5 months. 18.5-/20 pts (92 pts) Nov 2021 RRP $22
