Paddy Borthwick Chardonnay 2020, Wairarapa

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 30-Jul-2021
Bright, medium yellow, even colour throughout. The nose is full and generous, with immediate aromas of toasted nuts, gunflint, butter filled the glass, underlying stonefruit and citrus. Medium-full bodied, ripe aromas of nectarines, yellow apple and lemon have a bright core, entwined with elegant aromas of toast and almonds. The palate is smooth flowing support by lively acidity and a succulent fruit core to linearity; subtle chalky phenolic added texture. This is a stonefruit flavoured Chardonnay with good intensity and barrel fermented details. Match with grouper and spinach stuffed chicken breast over the next 3-5 years. 18.5-/20 pts (92 pts) July 2020 RRP $24.5
