Full, light golden colour with some depth, a little paler on the rim. The nose is full and voluminous with broad aromas of ripe citrus and melon fruit intermixed with an amalgam of creamy barrel-ferment and nutty oak with lemon-curd and butterscotch MLF. This is up-front, accessible and generous. Medium-full bodied, the palate is rich and plush with creamy and buttery flavours showing ripe citrus fruit melded with nutty oak, creamy barrel-ferment and MLF flavours. The flavours form a positive, rounded heart underlined by a little alcoholic power, and the wine flows smoothly, with soft, integrated acidity, leading to a rich lush finish. This is a rich and generous, up-front and accessible Chardonnay with ripe fruit, creamy oak and buttery MLF on a smooth palate with some drive. Match with roast pork over the next 3 years. Californian fruit, 20% from Lodi, fully barrel-fermented to 13.8% alc., the wine aged 6 months in French and American oak. 18.0/20 Sep 2018 RRP $27.00
