Pa Road Marlborough Rosé 2016

Rose from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 16-Nov-2016
Bright, very pale pink colour with a suggestion of purple, very pale edged. The nose is very tight and concentrated with a slender, but penetrating aromas of cranberries and red cherries, unfolding strawberry and red floral notes and subtle nuances of confectionary. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate possesses a soft, rounded core with flavours of pomegranate, cranberries, strawberries and cherries, lifted by confectionary and red floral elements. The mouthfeel combines fine phenolic textures with soft, ripe acidity and is moderately thirst-quenching. The wine carries to a gently concentrated, lingering finish of cranberry fruit and florals. This is a rounded and soft-textured dry rosé with cranberry and cherry flavours and floral and confectionary nuances, and ripe, mouthwatering acidity. Serve as an aperitif and with canapes over the next 2 years. A blend of 90% Pinot Noir from the Central Wairau Valley and 10% Pinot Gris from the Upper Wairau, the Pinot Noir given 6 hours skin contact, and the fruit cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 4.8 g/L RS. 17.5-/20 Nov 2016 RRP $16.99
