Pa Road Marlborough Pinot Noir 2016

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 04-Sep-2017
Even, light ruby-red colour, paler on the rim. This has an elegant and finely concentrated nose with penetrating aromas of dark-red berry fruit softly entwined with herb notes and a suggestion of minerally reduction. The nose possesses intensity and fragrance. Medium-full bodied, the palate has a concentrated core of tightly bound flavours of dark-red cherry and berry fruit harmoniously melded with herbs, liquorice and minerals. The fruit is supported by moderately extracted, supple tannins and soft, lacy acidity providing energy. The palate has positive drive and linearity, leading to a lingering, concentrated finish of cherries, herbs and minerals. This is an elegantly concentrated and bound Pinot Noir with dark cherry and berry flavours along with herbs, liquorice and minerals on a fine-grained, linear palate. Match with poultry and pork over the next 3-4 years. Fruit from the ‘Omaka North’ vineyard, Southern Valleys, fermented with 10% whole bunches to 14.0% alc., the wine given 7-10 days on skins post ferment and aged 9 months in oak barrels and tank. 17.0+/20 Sep 2017 RRP $19.99
