Pa Road Marlborough Pinot Noir 2014

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 16-Nov-2016
Bright, even, light ruby-red colour with slight purple hues, paler on the rim. This has a very tight and firmly concentrated nose of dark raspberry fruit with an amalgam of dark herbs melded with an array of red berry and cherry fruits, along with subtle notes of earth and minerals, unfolding nuances of raspberry liqueur. Medium-full bodied, this has a soft and gently rich, lush-fruited palate with a concentrated core and mouthfilling flavours of dark raspberries, savoury red cherries and complexing dark herb and earthy notes. Sweet red florals emerge to provide aromatic lift and richness. Supple tannin extraction and integrated acidity supports the fruit and provides a balanced mouthfeel, and the wine flows with good linearity to a gentle finish of dark cherries, raspberry liqueur and herbs. This is a gently rich and lush Pinot Noir with raspberry fruit and herbal and earthy detail on a supple palate. Serve with duck and pork dishes over the next 3-4 years. Fruit from Wrekin Road, Southern Valleys, indigenous yeast fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 9 months in oak barrels and tank. 18.0/20 Nov 2016 RRP $22.95
