Pa Road Marlborough Pinot Gris 2016

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 16-Nov-2016
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with a suggestion of blush, lighter on the rim. This has a very tightly bound nose with light but positive, fresh aromas of white and yellow stonefruits with an amalgam of exotic florals, fresh herbs and mineral elements. The aromatics are refreshing and steely in expression. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is rounded and gently luscious with restrained flavours of white and yellow stonefruits entwined with subtle notes of tropical fruit and exotic florals. The palate flows along a soft line with fine textures and piquant, lacy acidity, carrying to a lingering finish with light exotic florals. This is a dry Pinot Gris with shy flavours of stonefruits and exotic florals on a tight and fine, fresh palate. Serve with mildly spicy Asian fare over the next 2-3 years. A blend of 95% Pinot Gris from the Redwood Hills vineyard, Awatere and 5% Chardonnay from Brancott Road, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 14.0% alc. and 6 g/L RS. 17.0+/20 Nov 2016 RRP $16.99
